ADR UPDATE - Due to Covid-19

 Multilateral Agreement M324 under section 1.5.1 of ADR concerning driver training certificates in accordance with of ADR and safety adviser certificates in accordance with of ADR 

(1) By derogation from the provisions of the first paragraph of of ADR all driver training certificates the validity of which ends between 1 March 2020 and 1 November 2020 remain valid until 30 November 2020. These certificates shall be renewed for five years if the driver furnishes proof of participation in refresher training in accordance with of ADR and has passed an examination in accordance with of ADR before 1 December 2020. The new period of validity shall begin with the original date of expiry of the document to be renewed.

(2) By derogation from the provisions of of ADR all certificates of training as safety adviser for the transport of dangerous goods the validity of which ends between 1 March 2020 and 1 November 2020 remain valid until 30 November 2020. The validity of these certificates shall be extended from the date of their original date of expiry for five years if their holders have passed an examination in accordance with of ADR before 1 December 2020. 

(3) This agreement shall be valid until 1 December 2020 for carriage on the territories of the ADR Contracting Parties signatory to this Agreement. If it is revoked before that date by one of the signatories, it shall remain valid until the above-mentioned date only for carriage on the territories of those ADR Contracting Parties signatory to this Agreement which have not revoked it. ADR- Dangerous goods


All drivers of dangerous goods (hazardous goods) that come within the scope of the UK CDG (Carriage of Dangerous Goods Regulations) need to have an ADR Driver Training Certificate.
Here at CPC Nationwide we offer Initial & Refresher Courses.
PACKAGED GOODS COURSESOur fully approved Package Goods Course covers the following modules:

  • Core (Required by all drivers)
  • Packaged Goods (Required by all drivers carrying packaged goods)
  • Class 2 Gases
  • Class 3 Flammable Liquids
  • Class 4 Flammable Solids
  • Class 5 Oxidising Agents, Organic Peroxides
  • Class 6 Toxics
  • Class 8 Corrosives
  • Class 9 Miscellaneous


Tanker drivers will additionally require The Tanks Module.

Get up to 28 Hours of CPC

As a JAUPT approved training centre, CPC Nationwide can offer Driver CPC for drivers who attend either Initial or refresher courses. This means ADR candidates can  claim 21 hours (3 modules without tanks) or 28 hours (4 modules with tanks) of CPC without any extra work.

Important Notice

ADR training under ADR regulations has to be in the classroom and involves ADR exams set by the SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority). 

Please Note:- To gain the certificate a driver must pass a series of written multiple choice examinations.  

The Department of Transport stipulates that the driver must do these examinations without any assistance.  If you suffer from leaning difficulties you will need to give SQA 4 weeks advanced notice prior to course commencement through us.  We will need copies of Doctors and/or medical reports and will need to disclose the information contained to SQA for their consideration and decision.

ADR Dangerous Goods Training & WTD (Working Time Directive)

Under the Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations 2005 affecting drivers under EU 561/2006 working time includes:

New Course Now Available

All staff (other than those in scope of ADR) who's duties concern the carriage of Dangerous Goods whether directly or indirectly by Road, Sea, Rail or Air are required to receive training appropriate to their responsibilities.

Examples are, packers, loaders, pickers, warehouse & forklift operatives, freight forwarding or shipping agency office staff, supervisors, consignees and drivers of non-ADR vehicles. 

The course will involve:

  • General Awareness Training
  • Safety Training
  • Security Training
  • Function Specific Training - Relevant to their jobs & responsibilities


£80 per candidate 

Candidate's will be provided with a CPD Certified Certificate
